What needs to change for you to create more independence from your agency or service business?

I’ll tell you who doesn’t know. Coaches who only work with course creators. ChatGPT. Not even your business bestie who makes their living coaching.

If you’re looking for the real-deal on the steps that will let you sell your agency, take a sabbatical or simply carve out more time for creative work, I created this quick quiz for you.

Answer 10 Yes or No questions, and you’ll get your personalized Business Independence Action Plan.

It’ll take you 2 minutes to complete, and then you’ll have the roadmap for building yourself out of your business this year.

build a business that better supports everyone -- you, the team, and your clients

I know you worry about the effect stepping back will have on your clients.

It can feel like you’re the only person that can do the work up to the standards your company is known for.

While it’s true that no single person can duplicate the way you approach your work.

But a resilient business supported by systems that reinforce the values you hold for your company, your brand promise, and a team fully bringing to bear their unique strengths and skills…

That business is stronger, more strategic and poised to take on any challenges you throw at it.

And here’s the best part: None of this is any harder than what you’re doing now.

I’m Brigitte Lyons, The Ops Whisperer.

When I founded my agency, my goal was to transition from a traditional agency model into a business that would be more compatible with my goal of full-time travel.

I was going to be unreachable much of the time, with a shifting and unpredictable schedule, so I had to remove myself from day-to-day operations.

In the process, I built a company I ran working 20 hours a week, while traveling to national parks and off-grid locations.

Three years later, I sold the business.

When I started consulting with other business owners working towards similar goals, I quickly realized that you’re spinning your wheels trying to do the wrong things.

A lot of the steps you’ve been advised to take, including “create an org chart” or “build a leadership team” might be helpful eventually, but they’re far from necessary to creating more independence from your business.

The business independence action plan consists of 10 ways to create a resilient and stable business.

When you take the quiz, I ask you 10 simple “Yes” or “No” questions, which show you how far you’ve come, and what you should consider as your next priority.

It’s unlikely you’ll want to tackle every single step (I certainly didn’t!), but each one represents a significant step towards creating a more resilient and sustainable business. Whether you decide to continue on in your role as CEO or sell that business is up to you!
